A bad psychiatrist (or other mental health professional) is simply one who is not a good psychiatrist (or other mental health professinal).
A good psychiatrist (or other mental health professional) has all…all…of the following attributes (personal qualities):
- They communicate with you.
- They are able to explain to you their jargon (language of their profession).
- They are willing to explain to you their jargon (language of their profession).
- They do not tell you that you cannot understand their explanation of their jargon (language of their profession).
- They explain to you their jargon (language of their profession).
- They tell you the patient state(s) and/or qualitity(ies) and/or condition(s) they have observed.
- They tell you if there are any (case study) probabilities for the patient state(s) and/or qualitity(ies) and/or condition(s) they have observed.
- They tell you the criteria they use in the development of their diagnosis.
- They tell you the moral judgments they make for each of their criteria.
